 1. What is home infusion therapy?

Home infusion therapy is the administration of medications and intravenous (IV) solutions through a needle or catheter in the home setting.  Over the last 30 years, medical advancements have made this a safe, cost-effective and comfortable alternative to hospitalization.

 

2.  What are some examples of medical conditions that can be treated in the home setting?

  • Infectious diseases

  • Primary immune deficiencies

3.  What is the home infusion therapy process?

  • A physician or a case manager from a hospital or doctors office will contact us with the referral information (This includes prescriptions, medical history, and insurance provider information)
  • Our intake staff verifies the insurance benefits and communicates these benefits with the patient.
  • Our team prepares the prescribed medications, arranges delivery, and coordinates nursing services.
  • The medications and supplies are delivered to the patient’s location prior to the nurse’s visit.
  • The nurse will monitor the IV infusion site, provide education & training as needed, and evaluate the effectiveness of therapy.

 

4. Are home infusion therapies covered by insurance?

Yes.  Home infusion care is covered by most insurance companies. We contact your insurance provider to verify benefits and obtain authorization before starting treatment.  We have an extensive list of contracted insurance providers and offer competitive self-pay pricing when needed.
